Ms. Reshmi Kumari
Ms. Reshmi Kumari is currently the Director Policy, Planning & Research at the Ministry of Agriculture, Waterways and Sugar Industry, in Fiji. She is a career civil servant and has been working for Fiji Government for 15 years. Before joining the sugar industry in 2016, she worked as Economic Planning Officer at Ministry of Agriculture in Fiji from 2011 to 2016. Since 2017, she has been serving as Board Member of Sugar Research Institute of Fiji and in the past, she served the board of Sugar Cane Growers Council, Foods Processors Fiji Ltd and Biosecurity Authority of Fiji. Ms. Kumari is passionate about conducting research and developing policies to support the agricultural sector and participated/represented the Ministry and Fiji Government, both in local and international forums. She also served as acting Permanent Secretary for Multi-Ethnic Affairs and Sugar Industry from Nov 2024 to July 2025.
