Vacant Position- Debt Recovery Assistant

Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) is a statutory body providing loans and advances to sugar cane growers in Fiji. SCGF is one of the key stakeholders in the Sugar Cane Industry and as such, has an important role in supporting the interests of cane growers. SCGF is currently seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced personnel to join its operations based at our Head Office, Lautoka for the position mentioned herein.

Debt Recovery Assistant

This role reports to the Credit Officer, ultimately to Manager Operations & Lending and is responsible to carry out various duties and responsibilities as mentioned below. The position is offered for an initial term of one [1] year as part of the project.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities are as follows without limiting to:

  • Liaising with District Office respective Loans Personnel’s for default growers updated reports;
  • Screening through files for noting of defaulting growers inform of Irrevocable Authority and Security Agreement with FSC;
  • Identifying noting problems with FSC for Priority Loans, Irrevocable Authority and Security Agreement for efficient recovery of cane proceeds;
  • Interviewing and gathering information on defaulting growers;
  • Interact with Loans Officers for analyzing and compilation of detail reports for the arrears growers; and represent in legal matters with In-House Legal Counsel;
  • Verifying accounts, upon requests from Solicitor offices for Consent to Transfer of Cane Contract; and
  • Any other duties delegated by Management.

  Qualification & Experience 

  • Diploma level preferably in Finance, Agriculture or Business;
  • Possess relevant lending knowledge of Sugar Industry regulations;
  • Proficiency in relevant Computer applications; and
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar field; and
  • Possess a valid driving license.
