SCGF Receives Wheelchairs and Walkers

Sugar Cane Growers Fund (SCGF) received 20 sets of wheelchairs and 10 sets of Walkers from Bring a Smile, a Charitable organization from New Zealand, which is associated with the Federation of Islamic Association of New Zealand (FIANZ, NZ). While receiving the wheelchairs and the walkers, the Manager of Lending Operations of SCGF, Mr Sagar Dayal thanked the officials of Bring a Smile and said that would truly bring not only a smile but provide much-needed relief for those in need. He said that in the past, the staff and management would personally contribute wherever possible to provide such items to the community.

While handing over the items on behalf of Bring a Smile, Mr Iqbal Ismail said they have been doing this for several years, helping the people in Fiji. He was accompanied by another official, Mr Faiyaz Khan. They have distributed in Suva and for North, it is distributed through the Lions Club.

These wheelchairs and walkers will be handled by SCGF Sports and Social Club who will take the responsibility of distribution in the West. An Expression of interest will be advertised online for the Western Cane farming community. Anyone in the West who needs a wheelchair or a walker may also directly contact SCGF Social Club President Mr. Nilesh Karan on 9992061 or visit the nearest SCGF office.
