Sugar Cane Growers Fund - Continues to serves

Sugar Cane Growers Funds (SCGF) advices its growers and customers that they continue to serve in terms of the funding needs and or essential needs.

SCGF’s Chief Executive Officer Raj Sharma said that they have reallocated the resources outside of Lautoka to report to the nearest offices. The meetings with growers and or group have been cancelled and farm visitation also restricted.

Priority is given for the immediate family needs and or the financial hardship facilities that growers need. Mr. Sharma advised that whilst the loan repayments are made through cane payments but some of the growers are on the cash payment and if they have difficulties, they may contact our district offices. He also said that growers may use zero interest rate loan to
plant that is supported by Government and SCGF also has Subsistence Farm loan product where grower can borrow up to $7,000 to supplement the income. Growers may use this for planting food produces as food security is important for all of us, he added.

He also stated that it would be advisable for the growers to contact us through phone or Facebook messenger for any needs. He said management is also looking at crisis plan of operation through optimum use of technology and facilitate the services. He said the safety of the staff and everyone is also important when the Head Office is based in Lautoka.

As of 2pm today. A total of 52 Growers visited other District offices, but none at Lautoka office.
